Who decides?
Capacity, informed consent and reproduction - Zine making
Have you felt pressured to make certain decisions about pregnancy and parenting? Accept contraception that you do not want? Have an abortion? Or put your children into care? Alternatively, have you been supported to make decisions that you feel very happy about?
How, if so?
Tell us more through art - make zines, draw and interact to and have your say about what it means to have ‘capacity’ and how we can give informed consent and choose what’s right for us as individuals.

Inclusion North Workshops
Inclusion North is an organisation that exists to make inclusion a reality for all people with a learning disability, autistic people and their families.
Experts from Inclusion North will deliver 2 workshops based on their own priorities and experience. These are currently in development for the event. Please check back soon for more details.
Discussion Group
Join us at the close of our event for a facilitated discussion between Speakers and Participants about Reproductive Justice, rights and health and what matters most at the moment for people in the UK.
We are especially interested in thinking in what this means for local folks i.e. those that live in the North as we know that there are inequalities and inequities that impact people in the North more than in other areas of the UK. Help us find out more together.
Take time to decide
- Your method, Your choice
One of the things that can create pressure to decide upon a method of contraception when you are at the clinic is time! Short appointments, hard to get appointments - one thing we know is that time is limited!
Join Ali Hanbury, an experienced Sex Educator and facilitator, at this drop in session. Ali will show you around different methods of contraception, how they feel, where they go and how they work. Take your time, think about the options, talk about them with other people. No pressure, just information! And maybe a condom demonstration if you want it too!

*Note:
Ali is not a medical doctor and is not able to give clinical advice about your health or your method. Instead the information and resources available will help you think about what you may like to talk to your nurse or doctor about in future.

This session will involve demonstration items of different forms of contraception that you can touch and handle. The discussion around these could involve topics such as injections, needles, medication, genitals, bodily fluids, periods and sexual activities.
'No longer silent -
A reproductive justice story'
- Film making with Rosie
Join filmmaker Rosie and our host Dr Tracey Jensen throughout the day, as we explore questions of Reproductive Justice and what it means for you and others in the UK.
The short film we are aiming to make is with the intention of sharing the voices of people who may be treated unfairly when it comes to reproduction. There is no pressure to take part or be captured on screen. There will be lots of ways to take part depending on your comfort.

The aim of the film will be to explore questions about who is considered ‘fit to parent’ and who gets to decide if and when people get pregnant.
